The Future of Food Security
How might we increase food security in a diversifying growing senior population?

Feeding America
IIT | Institute of Design
The Feeding America network currently serves over seven million adults aged over 60 and older. We applied human-centered methods, rapid prototyping, and system-thinking to understand how seniors eat daily and the operational, social, and nutritional contexts through which seniors source their food. Focusing on the senior’s last-mile accessing food and being able to produce meals, we envisioned revolutionary scenarios to serve food insecure seniors in new ways. As a result, we successfully redefined Feeding America from being logistic-centered to transforming into a matchmaker for seniors connecting them to the right organization and communities using digital technologies.
My role:
I was involved in all project phases, including conducting field research and rapid prototyping. I drafted an initial report capturing my research analysis and identifying design opportunities based on these insights.
